Kicking off Web Camps India
Next week I’ll be speaking at the Web Camps events in India. The web camps series, put together by my trusty teammate Jon Galloway, offers web developers a glimpse into all the new web-related stuff the ASP.NET and Visual Studio teams have been cooking. I’m looking forward to the trip, as I’ve never been further East than Sweden. My team has this habit of coming up with nifty out-of-office emails so I decided to make a map, originally thinking I’d jam the map into an email. The image ending up being pretty huge so I’m sparing the team the extra room in their mailboxes by sharing it here instead.

AzureConf Reflections
I had a great opportunity last week to work with some Windows Azure community leaders in Redmond at Channel 9 studios to put on Windows AzureConf. These community members travelled from all over the world to put on some great presentations. This post summarizes the event and thanks some folks for all their hard work. The event was a great day, and really gave me an opportunity to do my favorite thing in this role – work with the community to create awesome content for the community.

Introducing Windows AzureConf
The best part of my job as a Technical Evangelist is working with the community members. Hands down, this is the best way for any evangelist to learn about their product and how it is being used in the wild. The Windows Azure community is a great one, with huge technical depth and experience, and it is my honor to be working on a great community event that highlights what real developers are doing with Windows Azure. I’d like to introduce you to Windows AzureConf, the first all-community Windows Azure event executed by the community at Channel 9 Studios.

Eurotrip 2012
Last week I had the pleasure of attending a few community events in Europe. The trip was fantastic, with some talks to be done in front of various groups throughout Belgium and Sweden. In this post I will summarize the event, provide some links to the slides I created, and thank all the great people who made the trip one of the more memorable.

So long and thanks for all the memories!
Dear Charlotte,
Tomorrow's the day my family leaves Charlotte for Seattle. So, the timing is perfect for the "buh-bye" post, and this is it. If you've been a part of my network you might want to read this. Then again, maybe not. There's going to be some good stuff and some bad stuff, and I hope everyone gets what I'm trying to say and that this post fails to burn any bridges. That's not my intent. My intent, as it always has been, is to empower Charlotte. -
WebMatrix on Web Camps TV
This week I had the absolute privelege of hosting the Channel 9 Web Camps TV show. The show featured WebMatrix, and our guest was Vishal Joshi, Lead Program Manager for the product. Vishal highlights some of the great new features available in the new version of WebMatrix, which you can download for free in under 2 minutes. The product is impressive and offers just about every single thing a web developer would need. From database edits to code completion across C#, CSS, HTML, and even PHP code completion, WebMatrix has you covered. Take a few minutes and check out the new features you can get for free on Web Camps TV.

Codemash SignalR Talk
If you attended my SignalR talk at Codemash, thank you so much for your time. I had a blast at Codemash, and really enjoyed the talk. It was a great audience with some good conversations in the hallway afterward. If you attended the session and want to get your hands on the deck and code, this is the place.

Richmond Code Camp
The Richmond Code Camp was great. NDecision attracted a lot of participants and enthusiasm and motivated me to keep plugging away at it. There was some excellent audience pariticipation and Twitter-reviews from which I got much encouragement. Both sessions I presented were loaded with enthusiasm that Microsoft is, from all public observation, maturing in its attitude and adoption of OSS contribution. That was uplifting, but not my favorite observation from the weekend.

Developers Guild AOP and PostSharp Presentation
Last night I presented PostSharp and AOP at the Charlotte Enterprise Developer's Guild. I had a great time and the audience seemed to enjoy the topic.
