Dave's beef with the "pigs and chickens"

I love Dave's approach towards discussing the notion of pigs, chickens, and accountability. I couldn't agree more with the overwhelming majority of what he has to say in his post. Of course, I have something to add. The pigs and the chickens are equally invested, and if they're not, they should be given up like lambs when the farmer arrives to collect what's his. There's a lot of metaphors (metaphii?) for this so I'll use what comes to mind.

"If you aren't a part of the problem you're a part of the solution." Or reversed, as you're more than likely used to hearing.

"Get on the bus."

"Can't we all just get along?"

And so on. Bottom line is, if your whole team isn't invested in the success of the mass the members who stand in the way of the mass must be educated to the negative impact of their existence. Maybe then they'll get back on the bus and lend a hand to the task of getting things done.

Bill's Last Day

Nice video on YouTube of Bill Gate's CES keynote speech. Apparently he's changing his direction somewhat. Quite an interesting blip on the radar. Indicative? Reactionary?

Google Analytics

I've been using Google Analytics for a few months now and I have to give it an enthusiastic thumbs up. It is an absolutely excellent tool that provides the average joe with everything he'd need to understand his site traffic. One of the items it provides is the name of the network from which many of your hits are coming. A moderately sized portion (5 percent or so) of my traffic originates from a mental hospital in my home state. While looking for the link to the hospital this evening to tell you about it I learned about the woman Dorothea Dix, after whom the hospital was named. This not only proves to me the effectiveness of the Internet (specifically, Google's toolset) but also that someone is watching me from a mental hospital. *Ahem*
