Everywhere you look White and light-skinned images of beauty rule, and the black women that are upheld as beautiful are almost always light-skinned — Beyoncé, Halle Berry, Vanessa Williams, Jane Kennedy, Billy Holiday, Dorothy Dandridge, etc… I love that a black man is appreciating dark skinned women.
It's just the industry that we're in.
