Codemash SignalR Talk

Tagged: community SignalR

If you attended my SignalR talk at Codemash, thank you so much for your time. I had a blast at Codemash, and really enjoyed the talk. It was a great audience with some good conversations in the hallway afterward. If you attended the session and want to get your hands on the deck and code, this is the place.

The deck and code are here!

Safe travels home, everyone! I look forward to next year's Codemash!

I was the guy who doesn't like dynamic :)

(It has its place, but I avoid it where possible.)

Good talk - I was dying to know about the multi-server capabilities, where different clients are connected to different hubs (as if we were to ever use something like SignalR at Google we'd absolutely need that ability) but I realize that was somewhat out of the scope of the talk. I *think* the last question was talking about that, but I wasn't entirely sure.

Anyway, I definitely had fun - will be interested to see how async and SignalR play together...

Awesome Brady! Glad you had a good time.

Would you describe SignalR as (Socket.IO + Node.js) for the .NET Runtime?

TVD - I would say SignalR is very, very similar in nature to the provisions available to Node developers with Socket.IO. However, whereas Socket.IO runs under Node, SignalR lives on its own under .NET. Not that that's a bad thing, I'm learning more about Node now and enjoying it.

Josh - Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the talk!
